Game Description
Brief Summary: |
Space Tournament is a challenging arcade game where players navigate a small spaceship through various levels, aiming to complete them in the fastest time possible. The game offers a story-driven campaign, and every mission also feeds into the competitive mode, allowing players to compare their times with friends and global competitors. The gameplay stands out due to its unique physics-based controls: the spaceship is steered using only two thrusters, requiring precision and skill to master. Players must adapt to the absence of air resistance in space, resulting in an exhilarating mix of trial, error, and eventually, perfectly executed maneuvers. As you progress, you can upgrade your ship with new parts, opening up opportunities for better performance—and even greater challenges. With the built-in mission editor, players can craft their own levels and challenges, seamlessly integrate them into the competitive mode, and share them with friends and the global community. Will you conquer the leaderboard, design legendary missions, and prove yourself as the galaxy’s fastest pilot? |

Gameplay and Features
Game Objective: |
Space Tournament consists of individual missions, which are unlocked as players progress through the campaign or are created by other players. Campaign missions are accompanied by a friendly helper robot named Scrappy, who guides players through the storyline. Each mission revolves around completing a specific objective as quickly as possible. The standard objective involves collecting orbs scattered across the map. Other mission types include racing through a course or gathering gold boulders with a tractor beam. These tasks are made challenging by the map design and various hazards such as:
|
Game Environment: |
The game is designed to provide players with a dynamic and expandable competitive playground. Central to this is the integrated mission editor, which allows players to create and share their own missions. This editor is the same tool used by the developers to design campaign missions, ensuring it includes all game objects and functions. Shared missions feature leaderboards, just like the campaign missions, enabling global competition. Players can also access additional online features, such as adding friends to more easily compare records. Moreover, mission runs can be recorded and replayed, allowing for validity checks and refining strategies. |
Spaceship Upgrades: |
As players progress through the campaign, they unlock spaceship components, which can be used to customize their ship. Each spaceship is composed of a hull, engines, and a cockpit. The hull determines the ship's core attributes like weight, stability and air resistance. Players start with a sturdy and heavier hull, which is easier to control but less agile. As their piloting skills improve, players can experiment with lighter hulls that offer reduced stability and even eliminate air resistance entirely. Mastering these advanced hulls is a true test of skill, allowing for the fastest runs and the most precise maneuvers. Engines play a key role in defining how the ship handles. The basic engine not only rotates the ship but also provides a small forward thrust. As players unlock advanced engines, they gain access to specialized capabilities: 1) precise rotation without forward thrust, 2) rotation with added lateral thrust, and 3) exceptional forward acceleration at the cost of reduced turning agility. No engine is inherently better or worse—it’s all about matching the player’s flight style and the demands of the mission. Finally, players can fine-tune their performance with one of two cockpit options. The basic cockpit simplifies steering but slightly slows the ship, while the advanced cockpit offers maximum control for experienced pilots. Players can also visually customize their ship by coloring its components, adding a personal touch to their creation. |
Team
Studio: | We are a young team of enthusiastic developers, united by our passion for creating games. In the past, we've dabbled in game prototypes together, but nothing as focused and ambitious as Space Tournament. Joining forces under the banner of "Trash Titans", we hope to have some success, to be able to make more nice games. |
